What’s New for the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD
Updates for the 2025 model year include an available front and rear parking assist system for the Pro and SLE trims, a standard trailer brake controller system, and adaptive cruise control for the AT4 and Denali trims.
Design
The latest Sierra HD features a boxy, upright shape with an imposing grille and oversized GMC badge up front. The 3500 is available with dual rear wheels that give it an even stronger look, and GMC offers a range of wheel designs, depending on the trim level.
Powertrain
The 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD is available with two engine options. The base engine is a 6.6-liter gas V8, making 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The available 6.6-liter diesel V8 produces 470 horsepower and a very healthy 975 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come with an Allison heavy-duty 10-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or four-wheel drive (RWD or 4WD). GMC tuned the powertrain for towing and hauling, not performance, but both engines still provide strong acceleration and more than enough power.

Interior
Lower trims come standard with vinyl upholstery, but more expensive configurations offer cloth or genuine leather options. Available interior features include wood or metal trim, a power-sliding rear window, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, and more. GMC also offers regular, double, and crew cabs, with seating for up to six people in the crew cab format.
Technology
The base configuration comes with a 7- or 8-inch display, but top trims come with a massive 13.4-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, and the upgraded touchscreen offers Google built-in, which brings Google Assistant, Maps, and some Play Store functionality. GMC offers a range of tech features, including a Bose stereo, SiriusXM radio, a head-up display, and split-screen apps like navigation. The infotainment system runs flawlessly on all displays, and they all offer crisp resolutions and responsive performance.
