What’s New for the 2025 Toyota GR Supra
For 2025, Toyota taketh away rather than giveth. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that powered the base model is gone. That leaves the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six standard across the lineup, powering both 3.0 and 3.0 Premium trims. Other than that, the GR Supra carries over unchanged, wearing its simplicity as a badge of honor.
Design
The GR Supra has a low stance with gorgeous, graceful proportions that echo the BMW Z4 roadster, though there’s enough detail to be distinctive. The Supra rests far back on its rear wheels with a snug two-seat cabin that tucks in and then flares back out to meet the long hood. Forged aluminum 19-inch wheels make a statement, measuring 9 inches wide up front and 10 in back.
Powertrain
The big news for 2025 is that Toyota has discontinued the turbo-four engine, and along with it, the base 2.0 trim. All Supras now feature a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, rated for 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque and good for a 3.9-second run from zero to 60 mph with the available automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard across the lineup and can be paired with the buyer’s choice of six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions. With the automatic transmission, the 2025 Supra has EPA ratings of 23 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined. With the manual, ratings drop to 19/27/21.
Interior
The Supra’s snug cabin features a pair of power-adjustable and heated sport seats that are themselves comfortable and supportive, though headroom will be tight for taller drivers. Dainty windows and the high beltline add to the closed-in effect. Alcantara and leather upholstery comes standard, and full leather upholstery is available. The trunk offers 10.2 cubic feet of cargo space, which is good for a sports car.
Technology
The Supra pairs an 8.8-inch digital instrument display with an 8.8-inch touchscreen and a 10-speaker stereo. Step up to the 3.0 Premium, or add the Safety and Technology package (available only with automatic transmission models) to get wireless Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, navigation, voice recognition, and a 12-speaker JBL premium stereo.
