The flagship of the Lexus SUV lineup, the LX combines luxury with space and off-road capability. It’s a full-size SUV, but it’s not as big as rivals like the Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator, which makes it better off-road. This report covers the LX 600; the hybrid LX 700h is covered separately.

What’s New for the 2026 Lexus LX
The Lexus LX 600 gets very few changes for 2026. A head-up display becomes standard, and a new Earth exterior color is available. When redesigned for the 2022 model year, the LX moved to Toyota’s TNGA GA-F body-on-frame platform, helping it cut 441 pounds. It also switched from a 5.7-liter V8 to a twin-turbocharged V6 and lost the active front and rear anti-roll bars.
Design
The LX cuts an imposing shape. It’s fronted by a very large version of the Lexus spindle grille, flanked by large air intakes low down, and rhombus-shaped LED headlights with a checkmark-shaped light signature. The LX sits tall and upright with slab sides broken up by squared-off fender flares around the wheels. Large 20- or 22-inch wheels fill the wheel wells, and the tall rear end resolves with a full-width taillight that pinches down in the middle. The F Sport Handling trim level gets unique 22-inch wheels and a mesh grille with a jet-black chrome frame.
Powertrain
The LX 600 is powered by a turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 that spins out 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Power flows to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel-drive (4WD) system with low-range gearing. The center differential can lock in a 50/50 front/rear power split. Off-road capability is enhanced by a hydraulic-linked suspension that can raise ground clearance by up to 2 inches. The LX also includes a surround-view camera system with an invisible hood view, Crawl Control with several speed settings, and off-road modes for both 4Hi and 4Lo.
Fuel economy is modest at 17 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined. The LX can tow up to 8,000 pounds.

Interior
Lexus offers the LX 600 in five- or seven-passenger seating arrangements with two or three seating rows. The front seats feature standard heating, ventilation, and power adjustments. The base variant comes with leather upholstery, while all others get premium semi-aniline leather. Heated outboard second-row seats are also standard, as are a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, a power sunroof, and a power-folding third-row seat. Upper trims come with massaging front seats.
Since it's shorter than rivals like the Cadillac Escalade, the LX offers far less cargo space. With three seating rows, it has only 11 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, or up to 64 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded down. The two-row LX provides 46 to 71 cubic feet of storage space.
Technology
The LX comes with three standard screens: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 7-inch screen below the infotainment screen that handles climate controls, vehicle height, and the differential lock. It also shows brake and acceleration percentages and Crawl Control status.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, as does a wireless phone charger. The base audio system has 10 speakers, but buyers can opt for a 25-speaker Mark Levinson system. Also standard are cloud-based navigation, a 30-day Wi-Fi hotspot trial, and three years of access to the Lexus app.
