Who Makes Maybach Cars?
Maybach was founded in 1909, originally producing engines for airships. It transitioned to well-crafted automobiles in the 1920s, until World War II brought it to an end. It was purchased by Mercedes-Benz in the 1960s and the name was used to create exclusive hand-built versions of its luxury sedans. In the early 2000s, it was revised by Mercedes-Benz as a division of Daimler to produce standalone ultra-luxury sedans, called the 57 and the 62. Today, Mercedes-Maybach offers high-end versions of Mercedes-Benz models and are built in Germany.
