Is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to a strong ownership experience for this model year. Owners consistently highlight the spacious Stow ’n Go seating, the practical family-friendly layout, and the good value relative to competitors. The overview also reinforces that this is a minivan built around space, easy entry and exit, and everyday usefulness, so it fits you best if utility matters more than style. With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable enough for regular family use, with praise for the overall driving experience and the value it delivers over time. At the same time, some owners raise concerns about durability, which is worth keeping in mind if you plan to keep the van for the long haul. For used buyers, that means condition and maintenance history matter a lot more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan?

At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on signs of wear, especially if the van has seen heavy family use or higher mileage. It also makes sense to pay close attention to overall condition, since age and prior use can affect how well this model still feels on the road.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,496 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,066, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan's resale value?

The current average of $10,244 sits slightly below last year's $10,723.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year is priced as a value play, so resale performance will likely depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance than on broad market momentum. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a practical, value-focused minivan with strong everyday usefulness and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for condition. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2017 is a sensible target when you want a balance of affordability, owner satisfaction, and broad availability.
