Is the 2019 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 4.53/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its power, value, and comfort, and many describe it as a rugged truck that handles basic needs without extra frills. The Frontier’s straightforward pickup character makes sense if you want a practical midsize truck rather than the latest tech-heavy alternative. With 28.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.53/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights it as reliable, rugged, and dependable, with many owners saying it delivers the kind of trouble-free ownership they want from a work-ready truck. That said, you should still expect the usual used-truck ownership risks, so a careful inspection matters if you want to avoid surprise repair costs later.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Nissan Frontier?

At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and overall wear, since accident history can affect both long-term reliability and resale value. If a truck looks especially clean, verify that its condition matches the paperwork and the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 923 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,864, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $18,743 sits slightly below last year's $19,759.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also suggests resale upside may be more limited than in a rising market. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter more because buyers will have plenty of comparable listings to choose from. A clean history and strong maintenance records can help you stand out when it’s time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.53/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.53/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $21,492, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,743 average.
• It adds a brand-new engine and transmission.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because it combines lower pricing with solid owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer powertrain and can stretch your budget, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
