About 2020 Audi RS Q8
The new 2020 Audi RS Q8 debuted at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. Powered by a twin-turbo V8, the RS Q8 sits above the Q8 and SQ8 in the model range, and it will compete with the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe and BMW X6 M. The RS Q8 may be brand new, but it has already shown its performance credentials at the Nurburgring race track in Germany, where it recorded a stellar lap time of 7:42.2. That makes it about as quick as an Acura NSX and only a few ticks slower than Audi’s own R8 supercar. Under the hood of the RS Q8 is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, shifting through an 8-speed automatic and driving through a rear-biased all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The sprint to 62 mph takes 3.8 seconds, and the RS Q8 goes onto a limited top speed of 155 mph. With RS ceramic brakes, top speed increases to 189.5 mph. Other performance highlights include an active sport differential with torque vectoring. The RS Q8 has already proven track-capable, and it should come with a lovely cockpit. But it will also come in handy on road trips, as the standard Q8 offers 60.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. As of this writing, Audi hasn't released details about the interior or safety features. Aside from Bentley and Porsche, another SUV in the Volkswagen Group that shares the RS Q8’s basic platform is the Lamborghini Urus. The Italian carmaker’s first SUV also uses the same engine from the Audi, but it comes with more power. The best way to look at the RS Q8 is as a less expensive, less flamboyant, and slightly less extreme version of the Urus.
