About 2022 Audi SQ8
The Audi SQ8 carries a compelling blend of style and substance but does not trade comfort or utility in the process. Its twin-turbo V8 is the same one that lies under the hood of the ultra-rowdy Lamborghini Urus. The Audi also shares its bones with the Lamborghini, but it’s not quite as hot or as exciting as its more expensive Italian cousin. Audi updated the SQ8 for 2022 with a host of additional standard features that include lane-keep assist, carbon-fiber interior trim, and adaptive cruise control. The SUV also picks up a new optional Executive Package that brings ventilated seats and other luxury features. Two trims are on offer for the 2022 model year. The “entry-level” trim is Premium Plus, while the pricier Prestige model is the range-topper. The 2022 SQ8’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 sends 500 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. That’s strong enough for a manufacturer-quoted 0-60 mph time of under four seconds, and the big Audi’s adaptive suspension keeps it all in check. Both models get the same performance features, with the main differences between the two coming in technology, comfort, and luxury features inside. The SQ8’s cabin is packed with standard tech that includes a dual-screen infotainment system with a 10.1-inch upper screen and 8.6-inch lower screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM radio, Audi Connect Prime & Plus with six-month trial subscription, front/rear USB ports, a Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System, and wireless smartphone charging with a signal booster. The 2022 Audi SQ8 hasn’t been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Standard safety gear includes blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree view camera system. The 2022 Audi SQ8 carries a starting price of $91,095. The up-level Prestige trim starts at just over $97,000. The vehicle is expected to go on sale in fall 2021.
