Audi e-tron family of electric vehicles is growing. In addition to the e-tron, e-tron Sportback, the all-new 2022 Audi e-tron GT adds a rakish, sporty sedan to the lineup. Where the previous e-tron vehicles leaned heavily towards crossover/SUV body styles, the GT is a low-slung four-door with a couple-like profile. In fact, the e-tron GT shares a platform with the Porsche Taycan.

The e-tron GT comes in three variants—Premium Plus, Prestige, and RS—and features an expectedly high-tech cockpit, highlighted by a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.1-inch MMI infotainment touchscreen. The e-tron GT also comes standard with a flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara. It’s also available with leather.

Audi will launch the e-tron GT in base and sportier RS specifications. The base e-tron GT features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. The front motor puts out 235 horsepower while the rear motor makes 429 hp, resulting in a net 469 hp. An over-boost function raises output to 522 hp for short bursts, allowing the e-tron GT to sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, according to Audi.

The RS e-tron GT features a more potent 450-hp rear motor, resulting in a net 590 hp, or 637 hp with the short-burst over-boost function. Audi says the RS e-tron GT can do the zero to 60 mph run in just 3.1 seconds on the way to a top track speed of 155 mph.

The e-tron GT also features a two-speed transmission, improving its long-haul, high-speed efficiency. The RS e-tron GT adds four-wheel steering, and an air suspension system. Audi estimates a 238-mile range for the e-tron GT and a 232-mile range for the RS e-tron GT.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Audi e-tron GT is $99,900 for a Premium Plus model. The Prestige trim starts at $107,100, and the high-performance RS e-tron GT starts at $139,900. The e-tron GT is expected to arrive in showrooms in mid-2021.
