Used 2025 Ford Maverick for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2025 Ford Maverick cost?

Prices have softened 2.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,615 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick a good car?

Generally — the 2025 Ford Maverick earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its practicality, comfortable seating, and good fuel economy, especially with the hybrid option. They also like the spacious interior and modern features, which fit the Maverick’s role as a compact pickup that still feels easy to live with. The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and the touchscreen-heavy controls can be frustrating.

That mix makes sense if you want pickup usefulness without moving up to a larger truck, especially since the Maverick is described as charming and functional rather than purely rugged. Good and great deals account for 30.5% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels practical, dependable, and easy to count on for everyday use, especially in hybrid form. The expert drive notes that the basic Maverick hybrid should make a great daily driver, with a passenger-car-like ride and well-sorted handling. Ford also backs the hybrid powertrain with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty for hybrid components.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about core durability and more about choosing a well-kept example with the features and condition you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the truck’s equipment matches the trim you want, since the Maverick’s feature set changes meaningfully by grade. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with the optional tech and towing gear. Pay close attention to interior condition and how the touchscreen-based controls operate, since those are part of the daily experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL keeps things simple with 17-inch steel wheels and a more basic grille, while XLT and Lariat add progressively nicer wheel and exterior treatments. The Lariat also gets a gloss-black grille, and the Lobo stands out with lowered suspension, painted accents, and 19-inch wheels. If you want the best value, the XLT is the trim to focus on because it adds meaningful equipment without jumping all the way to the more specialized models.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-liter hybrid with 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque, or a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 238 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid is the efficiency play, while the turbo engine is the stronger choice if you want more punch.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams are standard on the base XL. Lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning move up to the XLT, while adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go functions is reserved for the Lariat and Tremor. That means the lower trims leave out some important driver-assistance features.
• Infotainment: The truck gets a 13.2-inch touchscreen, Sync 4, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and an eight-inch digital instrument cluster. Ford also adds towing tech such as Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The base FWD hybrid is rated at 38 mpg combined, and the AWD hybrid is rated at 37 mpg combined. The 2.0-liter turbo-four returns 25 mpg combined in XL, XLT, and Lariat form, while Lobo drops to 24 mpg combined and the Tremor is rated at 23 mpg combined.

Which 2025 Ford Maverick trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Maverick is offered in 5 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the simplest Maverick, but it still gives you the core hybrid setup, standard 17-inch steel wheels, and the basic safety equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and do not mind a more stripped-down feel.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment over the XL, including more driver-assistance content and nicer exterior details, without pushing you into the pricier specialty models.
• Lariat: This is the more upscale everyday choice, with 19-inch wheels, a gloss-black grille, and access to more advanced driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go.
• Tremor: This is the off-road-focused Maverick, with dedicated suspension tuning, all-terrain tires, skid plates, and a twin-clutch rear drive unit for its AWD system.
• Lobo: This is the performance-oriented Maverick, with lowered suspension, upgraded brakes and cooling, a unique transmission, and a track-focused drive mode. It is the one to choose if you want the most playful on-road character.

The safety-package progression matters here: the base XL leaves out some features that arrive on higher trims, so you should compare equipment carefully before deciding.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,615 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,506, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Maverick's resale value?

The current average of $31,927 sits slightly below last year's $32,863.

That tells you the Maverick has softened, which can help you as a buyer now but may also mean future sellers need to be realistic on pricing. The current market still shows healthy demand, though, because the truck remains practical, efficient, and distinctive in the compact pickup segment. If you buy well and keep the truck in good condition, you should have a reasonable path to resale later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick safe?

The 2025 Ford Maverick earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in rollover crash testing and five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests. The IIHS gave it a Good rating in the updated side crash test, but only Marginal in the updated moderate overlap front test and Acceptable for headlights.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford makes forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams standard on the base XL, but more advanced features are not standard across the lineup. Lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning require the XLT, while adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go functions is limited to the Lariat and Tremor. A 360-degree camera system is also available for 2025.

The main safety caveat is that the Maverick’s crash-test picture is mixed, so you should pay close attention to trim choice and available driver-assistance equipment if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model adds styling and tech updates, plus the new Lobo performance variant and an all-wheel drive hybrid.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Maverick with the strongest mix of tech, efficiency, and trim variety, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025’s updated equipment and still-healthy inventory make it a sensible buy for shoppers who want the latest version of this compact pickup.
