Expert review
The first electric Cadillac is a midsize SUV with the brand's best interior design in a long time.
After a shortened 2023 introduction, the 2024 Lyriq is the first full model year of Cadillac's midsize electric SUV. The Lyriq is the luxury version of the GM Ultium EV platform used in other EV SUVs, including the Chevrolet Blazer EV, Honda Prologue, and Acura ZDX. With ample power, just over 300 miles of range, and a properly upscale interior that finally looks different than a Chevy, the Lyriq is a good contender if you're shopping for a higher-priced, two-row electric SUV. We tested a fully-loaded Lyriq Sport at nearly $80,000.
Verdict: As an EV, the Lyriq is average. As a Cadillac, it’s much better than anything else in the showroom. Traditional brand hallmarks, such as a cavernous back seat and a gentle ride, blend with big screens and significantly improved material quality. But it's still not up to the luxury standard that Cadillac promises.

Many reviewers appreciate the advanced tech features and the impressive range of the vehicle. However, some drivers felt that the driving experience lacks excitement and mentioned concerns about the charging process and some electronics issues, indicating room for improvement in certain areas."

March 30, 2024Love the grill lighting and even the acceleration is pretty decent on the base Tech model. The one pedal driving is difficult at first and while I’m not a fan, others might be. Very quiet and comfortable…smooth ride as is normal in a Cadillac.
November 4, 2023Good value, great looking vehicule but Not exciting to drive
October 4, 2023Love the quiet comfortable ride. Love the service from Cincy Cadillac. Love the looks. Love the speed. Love the range.
July 25, 2023My first EV & still mastering all the bells & whistles, but so far very satisfied. For faster charging, installed a level-2 charger on an upgraded 40-amp circuit.
January 3, 2024I am not ready for electric yet. Love my gas CT5 Turbo. - 1st generation Lydia needs refining. Not too attractive… then most manufacturers electric cars aren’t attractive. - Infinity sound system is very nice. - Love the 20” rims/tires - nice pick up and fast, but I depleted the charge rapidly - as a loaner, had no where to charge the car - I used the 120v charge to my house, overnight and only got 10 miles added…. If we purchase an electric car, we have to spend extra ($? - expensive) to add a 240v system to my house. This is supposed to charge the car 100% over night. - Cabin is roomy and seats good, but not Cadillac class and comfort nor cozy - dashboard electronics went wacky one night that nothing on the dash was legible and kept flashing disturbing by driving. Hard to make out anything . - Had the car charging overnight during snow storm. When removing the cable in the morning, the charging port panel would not close. This panel is very flimsy… - Reverse is a little scary. Multiple time when backing into a parking spot, the car stops short forcing us to get whiplash when sensing an object or another car behind. Or would be better if it would beep, vibrate and slowly brake rather than abruptly
